Week 21. January 24-27.

“Adults move because their will directs them. The small child is urged by nature.”

—Maria Montessori, The 1946 London Lectures

It was great to see everyone again after a four-day, snowy weekend. Children had a wonderful time playing in the snow on the playground, particularly on Tuesday, when it was deep, fluffy, and pristine. We enjoyed music class with Ms. Ida on Tuesday as well. On Wednesday, we welcomed a new friend to our class. Blocks and the Golden Bead material seemed to dominate worktime this week -- at the end of each work period, children told block stories, and wanted to share their work of building large quantities, dynamic addition, and subtraction. Below are some snapshots of our busy time together.
