Dear Parents,

Just a reminder that the end of the year is approaching!  Please check the lost and found for missing items.  We also wanted to announce that the lower elementary is collecting food for the Friendly Kitchen.  If your family wants to donate a canned food, please bring it to the collection box located in the school's library!  And as a reminder there is no school on Memorial Day (Monday May 28th!)!

Monday-  Today at circle we review the date and calendar.  We went right into work session.  Popular works making ant hats, stamp game, botany three part matching, and parts of animal cards   We also had a fire drill in the morning.  At the end of the day we practice for community meeting.

Tuesday -  We began the day with extra early Spanish class and circle time.  In Spanish class with Sra. Rosa, we review fruits and went over the months of the year.  Afterwards we hosted Community Meeting and performed the "Ants Go Marching One by One." It was a super busy day!  Popular works included binomial cube, pressure cylinders, botany insets, sand pouring, land forms, lacing, stamp game and bead multiplication.

Wednesday-  Today at circle we review the date and calendar.  We pointed out that in five days it will be Memorial Day and there's no school.  Popular works today included letter writing, parts of a horse, map tracing, sound box, lacing works, pouring works, yellow and read knobless cylinders, multiplication board, and creative writing- songs.

Thursday- Today at circle we had a birthday walk.  Happy 4th birthday S*******!  Ms. Becky had to take a sick day so I'm writing this from my notes.  "We had another fire drill today.  Popular works included lots of math and science.  Metal and botany insets were also very popular today.  In the afternoon they read Fireflies in the Night, by Judy Hawes."

Friday- Today at circle we reviewed the date and calendar.  We recalled that Monday is Memorial Day and that there is no school.  We briefly talked about how some people celebrate it.  Then we jumped into work cycle.  There was great progress on the K challenge to complete their workbooks before the last day of school.  There was also a lot of independence accomplished in revisiting older works.  Popular works included amphibian continents, Stamp Game addition and subtraction, Bead board and bead group multiplication, nesting dolls, twisting works, handwriting, tree/bush/herbaceous plant sorting works, and flower arrangements.  We also spent a fraction of time starting on the big clean up of the classroom and a good chunk of time enjoying this very nice weather outside.

Thanks for another great week!  Happy Memorial Day!
